First quilt of the year finished, yay!

I finally finished my second Downy quilt, for the first finish of 2010.
I liked the fact that it was frogs and dragonflies too! I better not let the girls see it or they'll want it for themselves, LOL.

Here's a closeup of the fabric:

And one more...

I think I did a lot better at quilting it this time. I tried not to be afraid to do it. I'm lousy at the quilting part! But I do enjoy piecing them. I need to get a darning foot I guess so I can learn to free motion quilt. Right now I'm doing good just going in a straight line! LOL.

I'm making some chicken noodle soup for dinner today. It smells so good in here! :^)

My co detector went off again today. I think my dryer vent had come loose. I moved things around and made sure it was tight, plus while I did laundry (that's when it goes off) I opened the back door a bit so fresh air could come in. But while I was back there I cleaned out a cabinet that's not been really cleaned out since I moved in! So that is done and it makes me happy.

I have a new addition to the family. It's a White treadle from I believe the teens (I think 1916). It's in incredibly good shape and I have to get a belt for it, of which I've already inquired about from someone who advertises on the TreadleOn site.

Now to just get busy and get some of these machines working!
Ok I'm back to the kitchen, to check on the chicken.
